Every child deserves a good public education regardless of where they live. My education platform focuses on equity, access, and reducing structural funding gaps across districts. This begins by fixing and fully funding the ECS formula to lessen the reliance on local property taxes, then indexing it to inflation to maintain stability over time. Increased revenue could be obtained from a targeted capital gains tax on high-wage earners. Education is the greatest way to empower a generation, that’s why the protection and expansion of public education is one of my top priorities. My plan for reinvigorating American education has five main prongs:

• Invest in students early and equitably: Universal school meals, expanded early childhood education, and stronger funding for underserved districts.

• Strengthen special education: Increase funding and reduce class sizes to better support students with higher needs.

• Support and retain educators: Improve pay, benefits, recruitment, and retention for teachers and paraeducators, including paid student teaching and student loan support.

• Modernize teacher careers and protections: Earlier full retirement, better pension portability, fair termination with neutral arbitration, and stronger collective bargaining rights.

• Protect safety, privacy, and academic freedom: Limit public exposure of teacher personal data, expand workers’ comp protections, oppose vouchers, and support higher education academic freedom.
